VascX elastic flow-control AV graft and stent

Elastic flow-control for dialysis access

VascX is revolutionizing dialysis access — addressing high-output heart failure and venous stenosis in graft and fistula patients through a patented elastic flow-control platform.

Patented Elastic Flow-Control Technology A Principal Medical Company
The Problem

Standard AV access creates a cardiac burden.

AV access is life-saving, but it is not physiologically free: it creates a permanent low-resistance shunt, increasing venous return and cardiac workload 24 hours a day, every day, for years.

01 / Population
786K
End Stage Renal Disease patients in the US, with 130,000 new patients each year requiring dialysis access
02 / Hemodynamics
30%
of accesses are already clinically (symptomatic), adding ~1,000 cc/min of cardiac output demand — all day, every day
03 / Mortality
50%+
of hemodialysis patients died from heart failure and cardiac-related causes in 2020 — and the average patient lives just three years
The Solution

VascX adds the missing flow-control layer to dialysis access.

  • Patented, elastic flow-control implants reduce high-flow burden while preserving dialysis performance.
  • Platform technology across 90% of access types (grafts and fistulas).
  • Easy adoption: same surgical workflow, same reimbursement.
  • Elasticity matters: accommodates thrombectomy/Fogarty and returns to calibrated profile.

The Platform

Elastic flow-control platform.

A single patented principle — elastic geometric narrowing at the center of the access — restores physiological hemodynamics. Outside dialysis sessions, the narrowing limits excess cardiac flow. During dialysis, it increases the inflow-outflow pressure differential and prevents blood-mixing.

The Products

Two products. One platform.

Elastic flow-control AV graft
At Implant

Elastic flow-control AV graft

A novel AV graft with a built-in elastic central narrowing that optimizes hemodynamics at implant — no secondary procedures required.

  • 50–70% reduction in flow rate
  • Accommodates intervention & thrombectomy
  • No change to surgeon's workflow
  • No second surgery for flow-control
Elastic flow-control stent
Retrofit

Elastic flow-control stent

An endovascular stent that introduces elastic flow control to existing fistulas and grafts — restoring physiological flow without open surgery.

  • 50–70% reduction in flow rate
  • Accommodates intervention & thrombectomy
  • Minimally invasive endovascular delivery
  • Deployable in fistulas and grafts
Clinical Evidence

Flow control is proven to work.

The VascX platform geometry is similar to — and improves upon — precision banding, the most studied flow-modulation technique in dialysis access.

01 / Patency
90%
Secondary patency at 24 months in precision banding studies — comparable to or better than standard grafts
02 / Outcomes
↓ Stenosis
Significantly lower venous stenosis, thrombosis, and intervention rates versus unbanded AV access
03 / Cardiac
↓ Cardiac Load
Restoration of natural flow reduces excess cardiac output demand — directly addressing the leading cause of patient mortality

Mission

More years.
Better years.

VascX exists to close the cardiology-nephrology gap that leaves dialysis patients underserved — moving beyond severe-case-only interventions toward a standard of care that protects the heart from day one.
